Last day in Cyprus

We managed some working hours, lunch and then we had to patiently wait for the leaving hour, by the poolside. This doesnt sounds like a difficult thing to do, but we had some issues with just laying under the sun and waiting. We just couldn’t find our place, and I couldn’t focus on reading. I feel like every time I go to a different place,or even returning home, I feel the energy of this change far earlier and this creates enthusiasm and planning ideas. I like to travel and make changes as often as possible, and this drives my creativity to higher levels.I feel richer after each experience.
Now I can’t wait to get home and put some things in order, have our good coffee in the morning and soon some “back to sport” time.
This was our 2nd time in Cyprus and we really enjoyed  each our vacation. It’s nice to recognize vacation places and know the hidden gems.
Hopefully will return next year for a few days.

Next stop: Romania

How to dangerously visit Paphos-Part 2

We went to Latchi beach to rent a boat and unfortunately being a windy day we could have rented just a boat for 7.It would have been nice if we were traveling with some friends, but for then we just decided to walk by in the area.We had lunch and planned to try to find Lara beach because I’ve heard that there was very beautiful and private beach.

I don’t know how we manage this vacation but our adrenaline is rising every day.

Somehow it happened again to got stuck in a sandy place on Lara beach, after driving on a single lane with some dangerous views beside, and some unpaved road.Luckily the moment we got the car wheels deep sank in the sand, we got helped by some nice people who pushed our car after trying many unsuccessful times.

For the rest of the day, we just enjoyed the sun and Ovidiu swam  a lot in the sea.

As always, we’ve done our research for a nice restaurant on Tripadvisor. We found Sienna restaurant, where we ‘ve met a Romanian waiter that told us which were the best choices in the menu so we had a nice culinary experience.

In the evening after working a few hours we decided to watch a movie,”The Constanta Gardener” that made us conscient about drug testing and how the things that help us survive and treat dangerous diseases may also bury us alive.

How to dangerously visit Paphos

Yesterday we planned to visit Paphos and started by going to Coral bay. We arrived there at around 12, after working a bit in the morning, and we were ready to have a great day. Till I fall on a slippery street on our way to the beach. It’s been a while since I’ve had such a large scratch, and I wasn’t really prepared for this kind of situation, no napkin, no band aid, nothing.
So I had to manage this situation pretty fast  since blood and pain were present. Went for the first time ever to the lifeguard for first aid, he sprayed some disinfectants and he told me that it was nothing, and to go in the sea water because will cure faster. I knew about this kind of treatment but wasn’t “ready emotional” for this. So went to the pharmacy and got some patches, and felt much better with my scratch covered.
Ovidiu told me to return to the house we rented and spend our afternoon by the poolside, but I didn’t want him to lose some nice vacation time just because I’ve got a scratch. I’ve planned so many nice places to visit, and we had rented a car for this and we went forward.

Sea caves

Firstly we went to see the Sea Caves, where Ovidiu took a nice swim and visited a cave  while I was waiting  on a stone and read while getting tanned. In this time,I was thinking that the days before, I didn’t get so much tan, but today when my knee was all taped, all the tan will be on 🙂

Sea caves

After this, we went to visit Aphrodite’s Baths at around 1 hour from the Sea caves. After getting to the place google pointed as Aphrodite’s Baths, we didn’t know exactly how far it would have been by walking and we went by car, even all the other people left their cars in a parking lot, we said Batman! And went forward.

Bad idea! Really bad idea!
The road was great for a land car, not for our car, an Opel Zafira. But we tried to go by our car, even by the look on other people’s faces we could have been guessed was a bad idea. Actually, I’ve read about a place where just 3 km was a bad road, and then some amazing nature places. It wasn’t that case, but I think my mind tricked me at that exact moment.
So we went to that unpaved road, with just a single lane, waiting when another land car was meeting ours and let them pass. We arrived at a high point with no safety beside the road, a single lane and no place to turn, just to go backward. And the car got stacked. That was the moment I thought it was definitely not a good idea to go by our car. Hopefully, the car rental agency is not reading this. 🙂
So we went slowly-slowly, with some panic moments (inner screaming) and some” told you” look on the people’s faces, that were walking, or going by a land car.
Fortunately, nothing bad happened, we returned to the parking lot and walked to Aphrodite’s bath -which was just 5 min away from the parking lot. It would have been great to know this before but I googled it and didn’t found a thing about this.

We then returned to Paphos and tried a nice indian restaurant recommended by Tripadvisor. Great for our tasting buds, and our sweaty mind.
End of the day.

Sunshine in Paphos

Been traveling for 4 days now and thinking about posting every day. I was thinking about this when I was home too but seems like it’s more interesting to write when I’m in a variety of places, getting inspired by every moment. In the same time, I am afraid that I may want to do this for my entire life, this nice feels like.

Woke by the desire to see the sunshine, this experience reminded me of the childhood mornings when I was going to the farm’s land with my grandparents and we were supposed to be there before the sunshine, so the grass would be easier to be organized and prepared for the winter. This way the farm’s animals would have what to eat in the winter and rest of the year. I remember thinking about the marvelous sunshine and sunset and I was a bit disappointed that for catching such a beautiful moment we had to wake up so early. But this amazing moment deserved the effort and became a strong motivator for me, beside an energizer.

Sleepy day

We had a  transit night – at 1 am arrived in Bucharest, went to a hotel in the nearby for 5 hours and then headed back to the morning flight. When we arrived at our sweet home, we decided to just take a nap. And had a nap till 3 pm…pfff. Starting our inner engines with some large coffee, and hopefully, this schedule didn’t destroy our night sleep.

Sweets and flight

Packed our stuff and headed to old city for a fika (we are getting used to this 🙂 We’ve  found a nice place called Gramunken, with some delicious Nutella cookies. While enjoying my fika, all I was thinking was that only if I could cook something like that, or just let the best chefs do their thing. People knowing my cooking skills would suggest to let others make the art 😀 Hmmm, dilemma…

Those few days passed on so fast, that made me feel like I need to return here and just stay longer. In the same time a part of me misses home ( I mean, come on soul, it’s been just 3 days, wtf?!)

Last night in Sweden

Started to rain in the afternoon, and since the weather was not the best for exploring the city, we decided to stay inside  and work a few hours.(workaholics)

Tomorrow it’s our last day in Sweden and this place already made us feel like home. We could easily live here (only if we could speak the language, but English works too). People, nature, the ecological aspect followed by this country, food, the entire experience enriched us before returning home. I hope to return someday and stay longer.

Fika and a cemetery

After breakfast and working a few hours, we decided to visit the area of Lidingö near Stockholm. The interesting thing was that we didn’t really study very much the best interesting points in Lidingö so we went to that direction and let the GPS take us there, and surprise us.

We took the bus to the city center of Lidingö and then we walked to what seemed to be interesting and lots of greenery on our GPS map. So, that was a cemetery. And we found out when we got there that Lidingö kyrkogård does not mean a park just because the map was green 🙂 Anyway, we walked by its side and found this beautiful  marina. (I could see this as a painting)

So we returned back to Stockholm, just 2.5 km away and had a fika (coffee) by the TripAdvisor’s recommendation at Cafe Schweizer. We actually didn’t try fika in a restaurant till now. So we ordered one there. See the picture,in this place the fika looks like this. Presented in a soup bowl. How do you think we drank it? not with the spoon 😀 and the apple pie was among the best I’ve ever had.

In conclusion, we had fun all day, and the day is not over yet. Will be back!

Work and travel

As usual, no matter the place we are, if we have the internet connection, we are working on our project-

Lots of orders to process and verify while this made our day feel like we would stay and enjoy this place as much as we need, not just 4 days.

So we managed our project’s objectives and afterward we went to the  city center and enjoyed a long walk within an amazing architecture. We visited the Medieval Museum and passed by the Royal Palace, but decided to admire it more from the outside, and explore further this beautiful city by feet.  Royal Palace Stockholm

The Royal Palace Stockholm

When our feet started to feel heavy, we decided to take a break and return to our place. This way  we managed to put some tasks in order, as many inquiries are made while we are not online.

So after 7 we went in town with a good recommendation our host made for some traditional Swedish meatballs. The best thing while traveling is having the opportunity to try some new and traditional dishes and this place, Nytorget 6, was indeed over our expectations.

Now back to our location and ready to complete some more tasks.

So nice we can work while we travel <3

Welcome to Sweden

God morgon!

It’s an already an amazing sunny day! Made a good coffee- we had luck and the house we rented had the same coffee press as we have at home, and since I have a habit of bringing our own coffee it tasted perfect.

I’ve read yesterday about how we make other feel by correcting them every time we think it would be better our way, or to avoid a mistake. Sometimes just by observing ourselfs we can notice why some interactions go really well, and build trust, while other times falls apart our purpose. Have your tried to observe yourself today? How you react when something goes wrong? Or right?

A story about  last night

We took a metro from Central Station and by mistake we stopped with 3 station before our destination. We were lucky to meet nice people(2 of them offered their help since we were looking like we were lost :)) and we succeeded our journey by walking in the rain at 12 o’clock in the night, and our GPS had different approaches :)) I really enjoyed the “adventure”. The last thing was to find the house keys which the owner hidden in front of the house. As I said, my kind of adventure.
